A recent study carried out by YouGov showed that 37% of employees in Great Britain now have worse mental health. This is compared to pre-pandemic levels.

The study involved 1,000 working adults and it showed that many people are struggling with what is now considered to be the “new normal” in the workplace.

Many employees moved from working remotely to working in the office again or a mixture of the two. It’s thought that almost 75% of people who underwent these changes have found that their work life has been partly responsible for their mental health concerns. In addition to this, almost 30% of employees think their employer is not doing enough to keep them mentally well.

Another concern that was highlighted by the study showed that many people have less confidence in their jobs. 17% were also concerned that their place of work was no longer a safe place to be, thanks to the pandemic.

It’s clear then, that despite the efforts of the government and GB employers that many people are dealing with a decrease in their mental health. With levels of anxiety increasing and concerns that winter 2021 may bring a surge in Covid cases, it’s no wonder that many people are asking for support.
