If you are struggling with your mental health, you’re not alone. Many of us struggle with mental health concerns every day. Unfortunately, the pandemic is unlikely to have helped.

The good news is that help is out there. If you are feeling bad, why not talk to someone over a cup of tea or coffee?

Talking about how you feel is a good way to accept and take charge of how you’re feeling.

We offer mental health support for Selby and the surrounding areas. Why not give us a call? Our phone line is open from 7 pm – 10 pm, 365 days of the year.

Call us on (01757) 642 399. If you call before our phone lines are open and we cannot answer you will be diverted to an NHS Helpline.

The mere act of talking to a friend about how you feel can give you more mental health support. Sometimes just knowing someone is there can make a world of difference.

It’s not always easy to talk about your feelings. However, using the following tips can help. If you are struggling to find the ‘right’ words, use lots of words.

  • Start by talking about how your head feels (Full, empty, noisy, etc.).
  • The next tip is to talk about what you like doing. Also mention how your thoughts and/or feelings have affected the things you enjoy.
  • Mention the type of support you need. If you think you should speak to a doctor, ask someone to go with you if that will help.

You could soon find that it’s easier to talk about how you’re feeling.

Did you know that you can get help with mental health in Brayton by asking for support? You can do this via the NHS website, or talking to your doctor.

If you’re not ready to speak to a doctor yet, put the kettle on and start talking over a cuppa. Talking can help you to feel better, even if you end up chatting virtually.

We put the ‘tea’ in Communitea. We believe we can achieve a lot by offering tea (or coffee) and a chat.

We know that mental health support is needed more than ever. This is why we ask you to consider talking to a friend, a family member, a doctor, or us. Talking can make a huge difference.
