Chocolate can boost your mood thanks to the phenylethylamine it contains. When you eat chocolate, the phenylethylamine helps to boost your brain’s production of dopamine.
It’s thought that the consumption of nuts can hep to reduce anxiety.
- 5 cups of malted wheat cereal squares
- A third of a cup of smooth peanut butter
- 2 cups of chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons of icing sugar
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
1 – Line a baking tray with some baking paper. Add the cereal to a large bowl.
2 – Heat the chocolate chips in a saucepan over a medium-low heat. Stir frequently until the chocolate chips have melted.
3 – Add the peanut butter and stir well so it’s mixed in thoroughly . Once the ingredients have combined, remove from the heat and add the vanilla extract. Stir well.
4 – Now pour the mixture over the cereal and stir until it’s evenly coated. Spoon the mixture onto the baking tray and spread it evenly with a spatula or the back of a large spoon.
5. Refrigerate for approximately 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is hard.
6 – Break the muddy buddies into bite size pieces, sprinkle the icing sugar over the top, and enjoy.
Make sure you refrigerate any muddy buddies that you don’t consume right away. This can help to keep them fresher for longer.
The muddy buddies can be stored in the refrigerator for up to five days.
