Eggs are a good source of vitamin D and vitamin B, both of which are thought to boost your mood.

Asparagus contains the essential amino acid tryptophan. This is an amino acid that the body cannot produce, which means you need to consume foods that contain it. Tryptophan boosts serotonin levels and can even help to prevent anxiety and depression.

Ingredients: 

1 egg

4-6 sticks of cooked asparagus

Serves: 1

Method:

1 – Bring a pan of water to a boil and turn the heat down to low. 

2 – Crack one egg over a small bowl and remove the whites before placing it in a bowl

3 – Add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar to the pan and stir vigorously to create a vortex

4 – Pour the egg straight into the vortex and cook for 3 minutes. 

5 – As soon as the egg is done to your satisfaction remove it with a slotted spoon. 

6 – Serve with asparagus, a sprinkling of herbs, and a slice of toast, if you wish.
