We have now been in lockdown for one year, and it’s safe to say that everyone has been affected. We had to make a dramatic change to our lives last year and we’re still being encouraged to stay at home.

While the vaccine is a light at the end of the tunnel, many people have been struggling with their mental health. The pandemic has made life difficult and mental health support is needed more than ever.

We offer mental health support for Selby and the surrounding areas. Why not give us a call? Our phone line is open from 7 pm – 10 pm, 365 days of the year.

Call us on (01757) 642 399. If you call before our phone lines are open and we cannot answer you will be diverted to an NHS Helpline.

If you are struggling with lockdown, you’re not alone. There is mental health help available.

Please speak to your GP if you’re struggling and/or click here and you’ll be taken to the NHS website. From there, you can read about the range of mental health support services that the NHS offers. You will also be given an option to access mental health services. This is worth doing if you’re finding life hard.

While lockdown is going to be eased very soon, it’s unlikely that life will go back to “normal” this year. We may still have to wear masks and socially distance ourselves from others.

Our article “Covid and Anxiety About The Future” has a few ideas about how you can make each day easier. When you know how to make these uncertain times easier on yourself, you’re more likely to do the things that make you smile. We all need to smile a little more right now as life is quite hard.

There is mental health support in Barlby and the surrounding areas so please don’t struggle on your own. Talk to a friend or family member if you’re not ready to speak to your doctor. Talking about how you’re feeling is the first step to getting your life back on track.
