Friendships can give us all so much. You may actually be surprised by how many people are happy to connect with others.

As an adult, it’s likely that you aren’t making as many friends as you did when you were a child. This could be because you’re not visiting as many new places or experiencing as much unplanned interaction. However, if you decide you’re not bothered about making new friends, it’s likely that you won’t make any. This is why you need to make an effort to meet new people.

One of the first things you can do is assume that other people will like you. When you do, you’ll instantly become more likeable. In addition to this, you could feel more motivated to show up at social events. You may even start interacting with more people.

When and if you choose to show up at social events, introduce yourself to people. You might also consider asking people to meet up with you outside of the social event.

Join events such as social clubs or classes that are repeated at least a few times a month. This will make you more familiar to others, and they will begin to like you more.

When you meet new people, share more about your life, and ask the other person questions so they have a chance to share.

You could find that over time, it’s easier to make friends
