As of today (29th March 2021), England’s lockdown rules have been eased. This means that we can now meet more people in public and participate in some outdoor sports.

If the thought of this has made you feel anxious, you’re not alone. We’ve been told to stay away from other people for a long time, and now things have suddenly changed.

It’s ok to feel anxious about lockdown easing, even though half of the adult population has had at least one vaccine. If you’re struggling with anxiety or the thought of life getting back to ‘normal’ there is mental health help available.

We offer mental health support for Selby and the surrounding areas. Why not give us a call? Our phone line is open from 7 pm – 10 pm, 365 days of the year.

Call us on (01757) 642 399. If you call before our phone lines are open and we cannot answer you will be diverted to an NHS Helpline.

What are England’s New Lockdown Rules?

  • As of today, 6 people or 2 households can now meet outside. This includes meeting in private gardens.
  • Open-air swimming pools and outdoor sports facilities are now open.
  • People are being urged to stay in the local area and work from home if they can.
  • The Government is also saying that journeys should be kept to a minimum.

The new lockdown rules mean that we can legally spend time with more people. However, we cannot let others into our homes just yet.

The restrictions have no doubt had a huge impact on everyone’s mental health. People all over the country have felt the strain, and mental health services are needed more than ever before.

The ease in restrictions could help our lives to feel somewhat normal. While this might bring a lot of relief, many people will still be struggling with their mental health

There is help for mental health in Barlby and the surrounding areas, you don’t have to cope with your feelings on your own. Please ask for help if you’re struggling.
