In 7 days, England’s lockdown restrictions are due to be eased. This potentially means that life could almost return back to normal.  But how does this make you feel? Has it left you feeling anxious, or are you looking forward to the upcoming changes?

The restrictions have had a huge impact on most people’s mental health. People have felt the strain associated with being in lockdown and again at restrictions being lifted.

We offer mental health support for Selby and the surrounding areas. Why not give us a call? Our phone line is open from 7 pm – 10 pm on weekdays and all day Saturday and Sunday.

Call us on (01757) 642 399. If you call before our phone lines are open and we cannot answer, you will be diverted to an NHS Helpline.

If you’re feeling anxious about leaving your home and meeting more people, here are some suggestions that could help:

  • Where do you need to go? Which people do you need to see? You don’t have to go to any places or see any people you don’t need or want to. It is ok for you to only do those things that you feel comfortable doing.

  • If you plan to go shopping, consider going at the quieter times of the day. Shops are usually quieter early in the morning and later on in the day.
  • Be kind to yourself. Lockdown has been hard on most of us, take one day at a time and understand that it’s ok to feel anxious.

If your anxiety is greatly affecting your life, please ask for help. There is mental health support in Barlby and the surrounding areas. You do not need to cope with your anxieties on your own.
