Not everyone knows that food can fight stress. All of the following foods can help you to feel calmer:
Containing essential fatty acids, avocados can help to lower your stress levels, improve your mood, and boost your concentration. It’s recommended that you consume half-to-one avocados a day. They can be enjoyed on toast, on their own, in a salad, or as guacamole.
Many people love chocolate, but did you know that it can help you to reduce stress? Containing antioxidants, dark chocolate can help to lower your stress hormones. Approximately 28 grams of chocolate a day can help. Ideally, you should stay away from chocolate that contains a lot of sugar.
Adding some fish to your diet can help you to fight stress. This is thanks to its high omega 3 content. Salmon, trout, halibut, herring, tuna, and mackerel can all help. If you’re not a fan of eating fish, you could eat chia seeds, seaweed, or walnuts instead.
We all know that a hot drink can help you to feel calmer. However, there are some teas that really can make a difference. Just one cup of chamomile can help you to relax, relieve anxiety, and help you to sleep a little better. This naturally occurring herb tastes good and can be enjoyed as a tea, perhaps sweetened with a little honey, should you wish.
Wholegrains can help you to feel less stressed. They won’t cause a spike in blood sugar, unlike white bread or pasta. In fact, they can help you to feel fuller for longer. In addition to this wholegrains are full of fibre, and serotonin, your brain’s happy chemical.
