A quiet pound doing a noisy lot
of good.
Small gifts go a long way here. A single pound helps keep the kettle on, the lights warm, and a trained ear ready for whoever walks through the door next. Quiet money, loud impact, all of it spent in Selby.

WHERE IT LANDS
Every pound, accounted for. Every pound, in Selby.
We’re a registered UK charity (no. 1188592), governed by a local board of trustees and accountable to the Charity Commission. Your donation goes straight to frontline support, not glossy marketing or head-office overheads.
100% of donations made through Give as you Live reach us, with Gift Aid added at no cost to you. Every penny stays in the Selby and District area, funding the drop-in, and the meals we serve daily.
Four ways in. Same warm
room.
The Centre
Our local team are on the line Monday to Friday. If we're busy with another call, you'll be routed to Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Trust so you're never left holding.
The drop-in
A warm room, soft chairs, a bookshelf, a kettle that's basically never off. Come for a brew, stay for help with a form, a benefit, a phone bill or a feeling you can't quite name.
The café network
Cafés, shops, GP surgeries, leisure centres, libraries and churches, each one with someone trained to listen. Just walk in, you're welcome.
The training
We train the people already on Selby's front line — baristas, librarians, vicars, shopkeepers — so a hard moment in any corner of town meets a kind ear, not a cold one.
OTHER WAYS TO GIVE
More quiet pounds, more noisy good.
Six honest ways to back Selby. Pick the one that fits your week, your wallet, or your wardrobe.
Set up a monthly gift
Regular giving means we can plan a year ahead, not week to week. A standing order is the quietest, kindest thing you can do.
Donate furniture
Pre-loved sofas, tables and homeware become hours of someone listening, and stay out of landfill. We collect locally in Selby, free.
Shop with Give as you Live
Raise free funds at no extra cost when you shop online with 6,000+ retailers you already use.
Fundraise for us
Bake sale, sponsored walk, pub quiz. We'll send a bucket, a poster and a very loud thank you.
Volunteer your time
Time is a donation too. A morning a week in the centre or on the van goes a very long way.
Leave a gift in your will
A legacy, however small, keeps the kettle on long after we've said thank you. Ask us how.
THE FINE PRINT, IN PLAIN ENGLISH
We take this seriously. Quietly, but seriously.

Your data, kept small
We only ask for what we need to thank you and stay in touch. No selling on, no surprises.
BEFORE YOU GIVE
The bit where
most people say
"...but".
Have a quick read through, we’ve tried to answer the things people usually wonder about before giving. If you’ve still got a question, just ask.
Is a small donation worth it?
Yes, really. A fiver is a brew and a chat. A tenner is an hour at the drop-in. None of it is too small to make a difference.
Can I give without a card?
Of course. Cash in the drop-in tin, a cheque in the post, or a bank transfer over the phone. Whatever’s easiest for you.
Is Gift Aid possible?
If you’re a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid adds 25p to every £1 at no cost to you. We’ll send a one-line form to claim it.
Can I say where my donation goes?
If you’d like it ring-fenced for the drop-in or training, just tell us. We’ll keep it honest.
