We all know that sleep can have a huge impact on our mental health. Not enough sleep can result in a lack of concentration, a low mood, and more stress.

Research has shown that if you don’t have a regular sleep routine you are more likely to suffer from depression and other mental health conditions.

A study involving 2,100 participants showed that compared to those who have a regular sleep pattern, people who had less sleep than others were more likely to have a low mood. The study also showed that those who don’t have a regular sleep schedule are also more likely to have a low mood.

The findings showed that sleep consistency is quite under-appreciated when it comes to looking after your mental health.

While having a fixed sleep routine might not cure every mental health concern, it is thought to help relieve low mood, high blood pressure, anxiety, and depression.

Brayton mental health support is available. If you’re struggling to sleep, please speak to your doctor or your local mental health organisations.
